Lydia Courtier has tendered her resignation as Swansea Campus President for 2019-20, everyone at the Students’ Union would like to wish her well for the future.
Becky Ricketts, TSDSU Group President, will serve as the lead officer for Swansea for the forthcoming academic year.
Group President 2019/20, Becky Ricketts
“I’m really looking forward to working with our talented part-time officers, course reps and SU staff in Swansea to develop and enhance students’ experience” Becky said, “every academic year is important but I am particularly keen that our students see and feel positive changes to their lives after a tumultuous year of university financial cuts and restructure. I’ll be working to make sure that every student has access to great teaching, resources, and facilities and can access appropriate support structures if they need that extra help.”
The TSDSU Trustee Board recently met and discussed the vacant officer position as part of its scheduled business. The board decided that the role would not be opened for bye-election in the new term, given that anyone elected would have missed the planning and induction activity that all members of the elected sabbatical team take part in every summer.
The three remaining members of the sabbatical team will continue in situ for the remainder of the academic year. Additional temporary SU staff will be added to the team to help provide more engagement opportunities for students based in Swansea in addition to the already elected Swansea part-time officers, details of which you can find here.
