The 1st of April is usually the date that people prank each other for April Fools, however, this April we want to get everyone at UWTSD Swansea campuses to join in with a community cycle brought to you by the Students’ Union!
Just to reiterate this is not an April Fools prank; it’s time to get active, make friends and get to know your SU.
There will be a group cycle taking place from 1 pm on the 1st of April 2020. We'll start at The LC Swansea and finish at Verdi's café, where everyone can get themselves a well-deserved treat and get to know each other off their bikes.
The SU has recently been awarded money by HEFCW, and with this money, we aim to improve the mental health of our students on all campuses; many students we have spoken to suggested we should have more opportunities to meet other students and take part in exercise. "Physically fit and healthy people are generally happier than their unfit, unhealthy counterparts. Depression, anxiety, and stress are generally lower in physically healthy people. Cycling boosts mental health”. Click here to learn more about the benefits of cycling
Why not come and boost your physical and mental health, have some fun and meet new people?
You can bring your own bike or hire one from the Santander cycle stations, one being by The LC for your convenience; they cost no more than £10 for the day.
Please fill out the sign-up form below to let us know you’re coming; the SU will also be visiting Swansea Campuses to promote this event. If you’d like any more information, please feel free to contact Rebecca Crane at Rebecca.Crane@uwtsd.ac.uk
Look forward to seeing you all on the 1st of April, I repeat this is not a prank... we will be there and can’t wait to see you all!
All the best, Rebecca
